Hot Topic for 2010

Thursday 18 March, 2010 - 09:36 by Greg Fletcher-Harriss of Data Mobility Voice (DMV) in IT & Communications

It's been a hectic start to the 2010 year and my blog site has been sadly neglected, but with some changes in our marketing team here at Data Mobility Voice we are back on track and I am very much looking forward to posting regular blogs and videos in the months ahead... I have so much to talk about!

It is great to be back in 2010 as the Information Technology and Communications Parnter for Business SA, and one of the key sponsors for the networking series for 2010 and I was fortunate enough to speak at last week's event that was held on the Clipsal 500 track.

I, of course, spoke about one of my passions in business and that is 'changing the way you work' by helping your business harness the combination of old,new and emerging technologies such as data networks, mobility solutions and IP telephony to help you communicate more effectively, and therefore enable you to run a more productive, efficient and, most importantly, profitable business.

I also touched on what has been widely recognised as a very hot topic for 2010... maximising cash flow. I am sure that this is an issue for all of us in business, but what does maximising cash flow have to do with telecommunications and IT? I believe it is all about increasing staff and business productivity and efficiency.

The recent Telstra Productivity Indicator for 2010 Report highlighted that improving productivity is one of the most important priorities for Australian organisations, with 76% of businesses surveyed saying that improving cutomer service and productivity are key priorities. The report also showed that Information and Communication Technology investment is seen as the most important contributor to improving the productivity of organisations with 55% of those surveyed identifying that this has already contributed to productivity gains in the last 12 months.

You see, increasing and maximising cash flow is not always about saving cold hard cash on a phone bill or getting the cheapest deal.  We are certainly working with many of our customers on driving employee productivity and business efficiency and in turn maximising their cash flow, after all it is not about the technology, it is about what the technology can do for you and your business that really counts!
